Years of Living Dangerously
Years of Living Dangerously is a documentary series that focuses on climate change, exploring its impact, implications and potential solutions around the world. It features well-known personalities with a history of environmental activism who travel to affected areas, interviewing experts and laymen alike to understand things from their perspective.
Correspondents on the show for the first season included Harrison Ford, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Michael C. Hall and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is also one of the executive producers. The series is also helmed by James Cameron, Jerry Weintraub, Daniel Abbasi, Joel Bach, David Gelber and Maria Wilhelm.
One of the things that really struck me was how drought played a part in triggering the current conflict in Syria, as I had not thought of it in that way before. I was also intrigued as to how Katharine Hayhoe speaks about the relationship between human behaviour and climate change in the context of her faith.
How can we re-think the way we approach climate change to discover better solutions for the future?
The second season is due to start in late 2016 on the National Geographic Channel and I’m looking forward to it. Check out the premiere for the first season below for an introduction if you've never seen it.
