Craft beer and dim sum at Haji Lane

Good Luck Beerhouse, situated in Singapore’s historic Haji Lane, brings modern craft beer tastes together with traditional dim sum.

The brief was to create a logo for the business based on the classic Good Morning towels, a ubiquitous sight at hawker centres and food stalls around Singapore.

Turning nostalgia into contemporary design

I sourced script and sans serif typefaces Nickainley and Sequel that would be reminiscent of those used in the Good Morning towels.

Opting for Traditional Chinese instead of Simplified Chinese characters in keeping with the vintage theme, I also adopted a similar palette of crimson and white.

A thriving part of the neighbourhood

Good Luck Beerhouse is now an established business in the neighbourhood and the visual design is still in use across all their business ventures.
